At Cal Poly Humboldt, you customize your own path. You can go for a traditional economics focus or mix it up with an interdisciplinary emphasis. Think environmental science, applied statistics, business, international studies, or history. You choose your emphasis:

Our General Economics Emphasis is for students who can't get enough economics. You take most of our economics electives and graduate with a traditional economics degree.

Our Environmental and Sustainability Economics Emphasis is for those who want to make sustainable policy or do environmental consultation. You take all three of our environmental economics classes plus related classes from around campus.

Our Applied and Quantitative Economics Emphasis is for those who have a passion for data analysis. This is also the path if you want to get a PhD in economics. You specialize in a quantitative field such as data science, mathematics, or statistics.

Our Interdisciplinary Economics Emphasis is for students who have another path in mind. You take a minor (or equivalent) in another field that you select, such as business, chemistry, music, or psychology. It's up to you.

All four emphases share core economic classes and you choose 4 economics elective (16 units).
